1.Who is Accessible Systems and how long have you been making skates?
Accessible has been making the Bottoms Up Lift since 1988. We began making the skates in 1999. We had the punching and forming equipment and said, "Why Not?" We can make them cheaper as we sell direct to the customer.

2. What are the pro's and con's of TireSkate vs. TireSkate HD?
The TireSkate is lighter (60 lbs vs. 130 lbs) and cheaper. TireSkate is similar in construction to the competition, but due to the steeper ramp, tend to hold the wheel on better.
The HD has a deeper well that keeps the tire from rolling off from the skate on rough concrete. It is also stronger (3/8" plate vs. 1/4" plate). The caster is much heavier. The TireSkate Deep has a similar profile, but with the 6000 lbs. caster set and 1/4" plate.

3. What about those pretty formed skates I've seen?
I'll admit they look sleek, but they are made out of sheet metal. You know, like soup cans, almost. Ours are 1/4" or 3/8" steel plate. You also have to get different sizes for wider tires. With ours, the tire just hangs over the 8" plate, which doesn't hurt it at all.

4. What is the warranty?
If you don't like them you can return them, up to 5 years. We will even pay for the freight. Let's be realistic. The casters can wear out after 10-20 year of rough concrete. At that point, we will gladly sell you replacement casters at a reasonable rate ($5-7 each at today's prices).

5. What is the extra hole at each end used for?
You can hang them on a hook for storage. You can also hook a chain or cable on the skate to tow a vehicle up an incline. They are also good to strap the tire onto the skate if one keeps trying to jump off.

6. Are they painted?
No, we now powder coat them in jet black!!! We used red and blue for the photos because it shows up better on the web. We reserve the right to change to Tennessee Orange if we get the urge! The competition does a rough black primer or red with not primer that easily scratches and catches dirt.

7. What about the casters?
Check our our complete caster and caster testing pages for all the nitty gritty.

8. Do they have brakes?
The TireSkate HD have a brake on each 4 wheels on each plate. The other styles do not. It doesn't take a lot to stop a small caster. A paint stirrer would work in most cases.
